It’s exciting to realize “Jesus in Everything” is starting to catch on with other believers around me. When someone approaches me with an idea for the blog, I love it when they already have the post forming in their heads before they ask! Christ has placed something in their hearts to share with you, Dear Reader.
So it is with this short and sweet post.
I am pleased to once again to present educator and administrator, Mr. Jake Greving. ~TCGW
I am gonna start this with the all-too-familiar “school is right around the corner” line just so I can get you in the right frame of mind.
As a high school administrator, I have already been back in my office since July 26 getting everything ready for the new school year for our students. Believe me, I know more than most that school is fast approaching!
- Mailings are coming to houses about student class schedules.
- Music departments and sports teams are sending out season schedules.
- Questions are circling about class assignments, academic teams, and teachers.
- Many students are going to be transitioning to new schools and college.
Often, what’s next on the to-do list for school is the purchase of school supplies. That got me thinking…You know what school supply needs to be #1 on the list, but never seems to be?
JESUS.
That’s right!!! Maybe this year, your school supply list could read like this:
Parents, we have to ensure that Jesus is never in short “supply” for our children. Consider this supply an investment, the greatest investment you will ever give your children.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)
For many reading this, I understand that putting Jesus first in your child’s educational life is a no-brainer. For some, it may come a bit farther down on the list of priorities. For most people around us, it is not even on the list.
Don’t wait! Let’s add Jesus to the list and move HIM to the top… RIGHT NOW! Let’s pray with our kids, share with our kids, and provide Jesus for our kids.
God bless our parents, students, and the entire educational community. Have a great school year!
